Tall Tales

Do you have a favorite Tall Tale?  Do you know someone who can tell a good "whopper"?  

 Tall Tales are greatly exaggerated stories meant to entertain.  Characteristics of a Tall Tale are:
  • A larger-than-life, or superhuman, main character with a specific job.
  • A problem that is solved in a funny way.
  • Exaggerated details that describe things as greater than they really are.
  • Characters who use everyday language.

In ELA class this week, we will be reading and discussing a tall tale.  Get ready to be mesmerized!
