EARS
I would love for all my students to read out loud to their parents/guardians at least three times a week. After reading, ask you parents for feedback using the EARS rubric. This rubric will help you understand what things you need to work on as a reader. If you are reading fluently, chances are you are comprehending the text at a higher level. Much like watching a movie while someone continuously pauses it; reading isn't much fun if you are continually pausing between words. Reading is supposed to be fun and enjoyable. Take time out of your day for practice.
