Dorothy Molter "The Root Beer Lady"

Dorothy Molter lived on the Isle of Pines Knife Lake in solitude for 56 years of her life.  She lives a simple life and carved her own way of living in a world that progressed in technology and modern invention which made life for most people easier.  Dorthy was a lover of nature and solitude.  She was an inspiration to many people who knew her or visited her on their travels through The Boundary Waters Canoe Wilderness Area.  We will study this woman and the character traits she possessed that allowed her to live a rugged lifestyle in wilderness country.  Students will complete a Character Trait Map on Tuesday, Feb. 21 in class.  This assignment must be turned in my the end of the period.

Many students were absent today from school.  In order to complete the Character Trait assignment, you must analyze Dorothy's character.  Choose four strong traits that Dorothy shows and possesses.  Write the trait and support your claim with evidence.  The evidence should be information you recall from past unit we read along with today's units (6 and 7).  I have included a picture of my completed example assignment.
