This week I am hoping to teach you how to make a statement based on something you've read. Then I want you to give me evidence that supports your statement. You may have to quote the text in order to do this. I would like you to read about Natalie Babbitt, author of Tuck Everlasting. We will read Tuck Everlasting beginning this week so I would like you to have some background knowledge about her before we begin. After you read these articles:

Make a statement about Natalie. A general, broad statement is fine. Then, support your statement with evidence from the text. Use one of the sentence starters below to help you state your evidence.
